Bedtime - the project

Does this look familiar to you?

The problem

During puberty, your children's brains develop just as fast, if not faster, than their bodies. Their reward centre is easily stimulated, and the trouble they have in trying to sleep at night is only matched by the trouble you have trying to get them up in the morning.
Any distraction sparks off more curiosity, and there is no larger distraction than the Internet. With WiFi enabled devices getting smaller, it is hard to control them.
You can of course set restrictions on their use of computers, phones and consoles but these have legitimate uses; homework, social life, recreation, etc. You can't take away a child's phone at night if it's also their alarm clock. This leaves them with the siren call of the Internet, right next to their bed.

Bedtime can help

This project is not a magic solution for this problem but it can help with automating some of the control over the devices your children use.
It gives you a website where you assign the devices in your house to your children, and set their bedtime on school nights and weekends. After that time, all Internet access will be blocked and any websites they look up on the Internet will be redirected to a page that reminds them that it is time to sleep.
